Water powered 100mph sports car
A water powered sports car which can reach 100mph and has zero emission is to be launched. The Morgan Lifecar has been developed by a consortium of UK companies and universities at a cost of £1.9 million over the last three years.
But makers say despite doing 0-60 in seven second the car is so quiet they may have to add MP3 sound effects to make it sound like a powerful petrol engine.
The car is powered by a bank of lightweight hydrogen fuel-cells developed by UK defence firm Qinetiq and will have a range of 250 miles.
It will be on show at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland from 6th to 16 March.
Still at the concept stage there is no price on the Lifecar yet but bosses say they will gauge reaction at the show"
"If there is an enormous response we will have to look at the project, the pricing and how it will function," said a spokesman for Morgan.
