Zara Phillips named best hat wearer
Royal fashion icon Zara Phillips has topped this year's 'Celebrity Hat Wearers list'.Zara beat of competition from fellow royal Princess Bea and the not so regal Paris Hilton - meanwhile Brad Pitt scooped the mens title ahead of David Beckham and Jude Law.
The list is compiled each year by the millinery and hat making industry in Luton and previous winners include Kate Moss and Kate Middleton.
Philip Wright who was one of the judges says top celebrities now wear ‘statement’ hats, which have something to say for themselves.
“It’s an exciting time for headwear at the moment," he said.
“Zara has opted for the more masculine but highly-fashionable trilby and fedora hat styles, together with some of the neat, chic, 1920’s-inspired designs.
“Some people may have criticised Princess Beatrice and her butterfly hat as being over the top, but it was a bold statement, full of colour and excitement. It was also a clear indication that the princess is not afraid to be noticed and has the confidence to carry it off,” he added.
