Confession box sex couple make peace with bishop

A pair of randy Italians who got caught having sex in a cathedral's confessional box during morning Mass say the bishop has forgiven them.

The couple, in their thirties, sparked outrage earlier this month when they were caught in the compromising position in the Italian town of Cesena.

After being cautioned for obscenity and disturbing a religious ceremony they said they had been drinking all night and realized they had acted inappropriately.

Senior clergyman are now said to have met with the pair and forgiven them.

The bishop has also said a special 'Mass of reparation' to cleanse the building of sins committed by the lovers.
