Are Post-It notes the new social network?
Office-workers in London have shown they don't need websites like Facebook and Twitter ... by creating a new social network with Post-It notes. When graphic designer Ryan Tym saw staff in the office at the opposite side of the road having a brainstorming session he decided to contact them.
He started off by writing "Hello" in his window with 50 Post-It notes - the other office quickly responded and the conversation developed into two days of Post-It based chat.
"At one point, there were five floors in three buildings, having cross-street conversations - albeit in as smaller sentences as possible!" said Ryan.
Okay so this might not be great for contacting people halfway across the world, but why not give social note-working a go this afternoon and get to know your neighbours?
Richard Holt - who was also based in the office - added: "These other people were getting pretty carried away last week with Post-it notes. It looked like they were having the mother of all meetings which had spilled from the wall, all over the windows. "When we noticed this in our studio, we felt similarly inspired and thought we should say hello."
After telling each other the odd knock knock jokes they used the Post-It notes to arrange a pint at a near-by pub.
