Moo-sician turns farmyard sounds into songs
A classical musician has teamed up with a group of Australian farmers to produce his latest work.Finnish accordion virtuoso Kimmo Pohjonen has recorded a series of sounds from Queensland farmyards ... and now plans to incorporate them into his next performance.
He says the moos of cows, bahs of sheep and the whirring of farm machinery, will all feature isn his upcoming performance Earth Machine Music along with more traditional instruments.
I forget, is Kimmo the Finnish accordion virtuoso who recently suffered a nervous breakdown?
A spokesperson for Queensland Music Festival where Kimmo wil debut his "masterpiece" later this month said, "In Earth Machine Music Kimmo brings musical genius to the most unexpected settings, performing with local Queensland farmers and their machinery, ranging from tractors to milking machines."
