Audience of just nine turn up for pantomime

275x250.jpgPerformers at a pantomime in Leeds were determined the show must go on - despite only NINE people turning up to see it.

The heavy snowfall meant that few people had been able to get to The Carriageworks Theatre, for the performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

In fact, because there were only four adult and five children, it meant that for some scenes the actors outnumbered the crowd.

But despite this, the actors carried on as though they were playing to the usual audience of around 350 people.

Are you impressed, we got through all of that without saying "There's no business like snow business." D'oh.
Marilyn Cohen, one of the nine audience members, said: "It was a wonderful experience and the best pantomime I have ever been to.

"It was brilliant being one of only a few people, as Muddles kept calling out Leyla’s name - and she even got a kiss from the Prince at the end!

"It was truly magical to see her face throughout the show and we both thoroughly enjoyed the panto.”

A spokesperson for the theatre added: "With treacherous conditions bringing much of the country to a standstill.

"These nine adventurous audience members decided they wouldn't let the weather beat them and turned out in full voice to support and enjoy the pantomime."
