Ferris Bueller's Day Off 'Ferrari' up for auction

275x250.jpgThe Ferrari 250GT Spyder which appeared in the cult movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' is set to sell at auction with a estimate of just £40,000.

But the low asking price is not because the classic Ferrari got wrecked in the film -- it's because it isn't really a Ferrari.

When making the 1986 hit, Paramount didn't want to splash out on a real Ferrari and used a replica which was driven by a young Matthew Broderick.

The car - which will go under the hammer at Bonhams in London - is actually a modified MG with a fiber-glass body made especially for the film.

That will no doubt relieve any Ferrari fans who thought such a "choice" car had been destroyed towards the end of the movie.
