Gadgets: iPhone Projector

I love the screen on my iPhone.

It’s great for browsing websites, playing games and it's pretty sweet for YouTube, films and other moving image stuff.

But, if you’re wanting to share the optical love it can get a little crowded around the 3.5 inch screen that the 3Gesus phone sports along with its iPod Touch sibling.

Up steps the QingBar MP101 projector dock from Honlai Technology to save the day like some small LED eyed super hero.

Although it is larger than the official iPhone/iPod Touch USB dock it is smaller than a lot of the projectors out there.
It has a 640×480 image resolution (the resolution on the iStuff is 320x480) and that makes perfect sense but the ANSI  (American National Standard Institute) brightness rating is a less-than-fantastic 10-15 lumens - with these ratings the bigger the number the better.

All of that technobabble translates into a projected image that’s roughly 15 to 27 inches in size but  I honestly can't see it giving anyone that wow factor as far as definition is concerned even though the site brags about the 16.7 Million Colours blazing from it's LED source.

On the up side it's sporting a mini AV jack allowing you to connect other devices as well as a set of 2W speakers for stereo sound.

I reckon, if the still undisclosed price is reasonable enough, it would be a natty thing to have as it recharges your gear as well as having that built-in projector so: bonus methinks!  If  you're just looking for a projector for your latest iToy – there will probably be better and/or cheaper on the horizon!
