Gadgets: Xbox 360 60GB

By Jay Garrett
Good news for you lot out there still umming and ahing about whether to get yourselves an Xbox 360 or not; especially if hard-disk space was one of the stumbling blocks.
Those generous types over at Microsoft have announced they are going to replace the 20GB Xbox with one that has triple the space on the drive whilst keeping the same £200 price tag! Bless their little cottons!
The new 60GB model will be available from 15 August (tomorrow) and will replace all existing 20GB models in the UK!
Not so good news for those that have recently purchased the aforementioned 20 gig model – perhaps a word in the ear of the vendor may get you a deal or a sweetener or something..
If the new 60 gig model still isn't hitting the right places there are still a couple more stable-mates to choose from.
How about the Xbox Arcade? It hasn't got a hard-drive at all but packs a 256MB memory unit to store downloaded games and gamer profiles.
Ok Mr Penny-Pincher, granted it is cheaper at a mere £160 but it won’t let you store downloaded films or music will it?
For those that haven’t faced the crunch or even heard of the crunch there’s the big daddy, the Don, the main event.
I'm talking about the Xbox Elite in all of its lovely blackness and strutting around proudly with 120GB worth of hard drive and weighing in at 260 of your English pounds.
