Movies: Odette Yustman Strips to Her Undies, Finds Evil Unborn Fetus

I hate it when this happens. You wake up one morning, drearily look in the mirror and discover there’s a lump on your shoulder. No, it’s not cancer… it’s just a fleshy little chunk of baby teeth and a few hairs – you’re twin that just didn’t quite work out.

What really sucks is when that cute little ball of fetus turns out to be an evil son-of-a-bitch that wants to take over your body.

Odette Yustman stars in The Unborn, which follows this general premise. I’m hopeful that Ms. Yustman, that gorgeous rebar-punctured gal from Cloverfield, doesn’t have any toothy chunks somewhere, but The Unborn looks surprisingly scary for a January horror release. It may end up being your typical dead-child kind of story, but the previews suggest otherwise.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson square off in Bride Wars, about two best friends who, by circumstance, find their two weddings are scheduled for the same day at the same venue. Neither wants to concede, so the natural step is full-on “Rainbow Six” warfare. Rated R for gore and violence.

Less interesting is the poorly titled Not Easily Broken, starring Morris Chestnut as a guy who is put to the test when his wife is injured in a car accident and he finds himself attracted to another woman. Frankly, if I had to choose between Taraji P. Henson and Maeve Quinlan, I’d lean toward Quinlan, too. The movie looks like a better-written version of a Tyler Perry play, but it still has that icky Tyler Perry feel nonetheless.
