Gadgets: MWC and Cassette MP3

By Jay Garrett
Well, oh well. I'm totally mobile phoned out.
8 Megapixel, Android or Windows, candybar or slider – I'm all of a spin!
For those who didn't realise – this week saw the Mobile World Congress which was all about the mobile.
On the subject of mobiles; it turns out that most 7-15 year olds own at least one mobile phone.
We may even get a standarised mobile phone charger!
As well as all that mobile phone eye-candy The Pirate Bay is in court and so far has managed to get the more heinous charges overturned – YAY!
Here is a break from all that mobile phone hullabaloo.

Yeah, it's just a concept but it is totally cool and eco-friendly as well!
For those of you that remember tapes you’ll recognise the choices of storage: 45 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes.
The higher the number, the more songs you can fit on the flash-based player.
The device has a flip-out USB for slinging on the tunes along with a sliding button along the bottom of the tape that takes care of Play and Stop.
For skipping tracks you shove your finger inside the left tape spool and twist to fast forward and rewind current songs.
The little display in between the spools indicates elapsed track time.
There's also a light to show you the charge status of the thing.
Talking about charging: This is done via 'kinetic charging'.
Spin the right side tape spool with your finger (or a pen/pencil) to recharge the battery.
This concept comes from designers Stefano Pertegato, Massimiliano Rampoldi, Eloisa Tolu, Francesco Schiraldi, and Giovanni Mendini.
They just need to make it a tad smaller - just like a real C90
