Gadgets: PSP Comics

By Jay Garrett
Ah, it seems so long since we last met.
Fear not gadgety faithful; Jay is here now and I bring an update.
Well thus far into August there's been the new INQ Social Network-centric phones, 8-bit Tarot Cards, an updated 1957 Aston Martin DBR2 that uses NASA technology, a hands-on with LG's BL40 Chocolate widescreened mobile phone, an incredibly green Samsung mobile and Holograms that you can actually touch.
That's not all though.
I've interviewed Tim Page from Sony Europe Televisions, witnessed a digital camera with a front-facing LCD screen, read so many rumours about the Apple iPad/iTablet/iProd and nearly fell over in disbelief when I saw Paul Teutul Jr of Orange County Choppers riding an electric chopper.
Unfortunately we have also lost a gadgety entrepenuer and inventor. Michael Dacre died aged 53 whilst on a test-flight in one of his own AVCEN Jet Pod Flying Taxis.
I enjoy reading graphic novels and have covered next-gen comics a few times in the form of Longbox and Marvel’s motion comics but now here’s a follow-up to the PSP comic store news I broke in March.
The new digital reader service that’ll be bouncing onto both PSP3000 (PSP-3000_series)" and PSP Go will allow their owners to access a stack of media on their handheld – the initial launch will be Digital Comics in December.
Marvel is one of the big partners in on the project, along with content from the likes of Star Wars publishers IDW Publishing and a load more others who will be offering reader graphic novels on the hoof.
By the sounds of things there’ll be hundreds of comics to choose from in the PlayStation Store straight from the opening.
All you’ll have to do is download the digital reader from PSN when it’s released in December, and then you’ll be set to start downloading your comics of choice over any wireless connection. Sweeeeeeeeeeet!
